Bottom line- great for blocking out regular lights to help you fall asleep but I wouldn't recommend it if you're getting it to be able to sleep while your SO watches TV in bed
I love the silk. It doesn’t itch and the band isn’t too tight.
I washed it and it did shrink but that’s probably my fault as I put it in the dryer. It’s still soft though and works just as well. Had for a couple years now and still my favorite eye mask. Best 10 bucks I’ve ever spent.
Against the skin it is so cool, and soft. I’m a warm sleeper so that cooling sensation gives me a lot of relief when I’m trying to fall asleep. And so soft. I want to just touch it all day. The band gives the gentlest bit of pressure on my eyes. Idk, for me it’s comforting. When it’s feeling a bit thin or stretched out I hand wash it in the sink and it bounces right back. So far I’ve only got the tiniest bit of fraying on the back of the band.
Skincare: they say that sleeping with silk is better for your skin, and I can honestly say there’s a noticeable difference between my skin quality in the areas the mask sits vs everywhere else on my face. I struggle with dry skin (like peeling and flaking off. I work in skincare and nothing else I’ve tried has made a difference) but around my eyes and forehead feels consistently soft and supple. I wouldn’t believe it if I didn’t see it for myself.
(All of this coming from not using any kind of eye mask in the past. So I don’t have much perspective to compare it to, but I’m very happy with this one.)
