This Privacy Policy describes how Curltastic (the "Site", "we", "us") collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from the Site. Curltastic is operated by Outlier Web LLC.
What we collect, and why
Order information. When you place an order we collect your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, and phone number if you provide one. We use it to charge you, ship to you, send you your receipt and shipping confirmation, and answer your support messages. This is information you give us directly at checkout.
Payment card details never reach our servers. Your card number goes from your browser directly to Stripe, our payment processor. We never see, store, or transmit it. What we keep is what Stripe gives back: whether the payment succeeded, the last four digits, and the card brand.
Device and usage information. When you browse the Site we collect the kind of information every website's analytics collects: browser version, IP address, time zone, the pages and products you view, and how you arrived here. We use it to understand what's working on the Site and what isn't. It is collected automatically using cookies and similar technologies.
Customer support information. If you email us, we keep the correspondence so we can help you and so the next person who helps you has the history.
Who processes it for us
We are not in the business of selling your information, and we don't. These are the services that process personal information on our behalf, and what each one holds:
- Stripe (payments) — your card details and billing information. Stripe's privacy policy
- Loops (email) — your email address and order details, used to send receipts, shipping confirmations, and order-lookup messages.
- PostHog (analytics) — device and usage information described above.
- Supabase (database hosting) — our store database, which includes your order information.
- Our fulfilment partners and shipping carriers — your name and shipping address, which is what it takes to get a package to you.
Cookies
We set a small number of cookies, and none of them are advertising cookies:
- Cart cookie — remembers what's in your cart between visits. The Site doesn't work without it.
- Analytics cookies (PostHog) — help us count visits and understand how the Site is used.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking the cart cookie will prevent checkout from working.
We send transactional email — receipts, shipping confirmations, order lookups — because they're part of fulfilling your order. We send marketing email only if you've opted in, and every marketing email has a working unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing from marketing never stops your receipts.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to. Analytics data is retained on PostHog's standard retention schedule. Support correspondence is kept so we can serve you if you come back.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us at [email protected] and we will handle it — you don't need to cite a statute. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Minors
The Site is not intended for people under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or for legal reasons. The date at the top of this page is updated whenever the policy changes.
